How to Add a Watermark to a Photo
To watermark a photo, open it above, type your text or choose your logo, and pick where it goes. The preview shows the result straight away.
- Add the photo. Drag it onto the box, click to choose it, or paste it with Ctrl+V.
- Make the watermark. Text - your name, website or a copyright line, in the font, size and colour you want - or your logo as an image file.
- Place it. A corner, the centre, or tiled across the whole picture; the opacity slider makes it more or less see-through.
- Download or share. Download the watermarked photo in its original format, or publish it to get a link.
Watermark Many Photos at Once
Add up to 30 photos and the same watermark goes on every one. Size and margin are set relative to each picture, so the watermark looks the same on a wide landscape shot and a tall phone photo. Click the thumbnails to check each preview, then download them all as one ZIP file - or publish them together and get a link for each, or one album link.
Where to Put a Watermark
- A corner keeps the photo clean and credits you - good for portfolios and social posts. It is also the easiest to crop off.
- Tiled across the image repeats the mark diagonally over the whole picture. It is far harder to remove, which suits product photos, previews and proofs you send to clients.
- Opacity around 40-60% keeps the mark visible without hiding the photo.
A watermark shows who a picture belongs to; to hide something in it instead, such as a face or a number plate, use the blur tool. To share photos with a link, see photo hosting.
