Paste Image: Turn a Clipboard Image or Screenshot Into a Link
By Product Team
Paste an image here. Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) anywhere on this page to paste a copied image or screenshot, and get a link to it - no account, no signup.
Nothing on the clipboard? Choose a file or drop one on this box.
Paste Image is a free image paster: you paste a picture from your clipboard and get a link you can share. There is no file to save first. Copy an image from a web page, a document or a chat, or take a screenshot, press Ctrl+V on this page and the image is ready to upload. When it finishes you get a page link, a direct link, HTML, BBCode and Markdown.
How to Paste an Image and Get a Link
- Copy the image. Right-click a picture and choose Copy image, or take a screenshot to the clipboard.
- Paste it on this page. Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac), or press Paste from Clipboard. A preview of the pasted image opens.
- Upload it. Nothing is uploaded until you press Upload, so a wrong paste can be removed first.
- Copy the link. Use the page link to send to people, or the direct link, HTML, BBCode or Markdown to put the image in a post or a page.

Paste a Screenshot: Upload a Screenshot and Get a Link
Pasting is the fastest way to upload a screenshot, because the screenshot never has to be saved as a file. Take it straight to the clipboard, paste it here, and share the screenshot link in a chat, a support ticket or a bug report.
| Device | Take a screenshot to the clipboard | Paste it here |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Win+Shift+S and select an area, or PrtScn for the whole screen | Ctrl+V |
| Mac | Cmd+Ctrl+Shift+4 and select an area | Cmd+V |
| Chromebook | Ctrl+Shift+Show windows and select an area | Ctrl+V |
| Phone | Take the screenshot, open it and choose Copy | Paste from Clipboard, or Choose a file |
If the screenshot shows something private, give it an expiry: on the image's page open Edit details and tick Auto-delete this upload. See temporary image hosting for the options. If you take screenshots all day, ShareX, Flameshot and Greenshot can upload them here automatically.
What You Can Paste
- Screenshots taken to the clipboard.
- Images copied from a web page with Copy image.
- Pictures copied from a document, slide or chat - anything your computer puts on the clipboard as an image.
- Image files copied in your file manager, in browsers that pass copied files to a web page.
Text and web addresses are not images, so pasting them does nothing here. If what you have is a link to an image rather than the image itself, use upload from URL. If the picture is a file on your device, the image to URL converter takes it from there.
Where to Use the Link
The page link opens the pasted image in a browser and is the one to send to people. The direct link points at the image file and is what forums, chat apps and web pages expect. A pasted image is not added to any public feed unless you choose to make it public.
- Chats and email: paste the page link instead of attaching the picture.
- Forums: copy the BBCode.
- Web pages: copy the HTML, an
<img>tag wrapped in a link. - README files, issues and docs: copy the Markdown.
